Online robotics technology course design by balancing workload and affect

چکیده
This paper describes our course design approach that successfully transformed an undergraduate Robotics Technology from in-person teaching to online guided by the TASKS model. Our redesign process includes identifying conflicts, generating solutions, self-evaluation, and analyses of solutions. We carefully balanced between Workload students’ Affect, designing comparable workloads as before, well maintaining motivation similarly at level. Transforming this consisting lecture sessions lab with hardware software elements yielded a set activities practices applicable other courses. When physical robots become unavailable, simulation projects were designed alternatives simulated versions those used in face-to-face classroom. These are areas autonomous mobile robots, robotic manipulator, advanced control on MATLAB-ROS, respectively. Comparisons past results confirm effective learning has been achieved remotely, having maintained student’s performance motivation.

Balancing Theory and Practical Work in a Humanoid Robotics Course
In this paper, we summarize our experiences from teaching a course in humanoid robotics at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg, Sweden. We describe the robotic platform used in the course and we propose the use of a custom-built robot consisting of standard electronic and mechanical components. In our experience, by using standard components, the students obtain a deeper understanding...
متن کاملBalancing Nursing Workload by Constraint Programming
Nursing workload in hospitals has an impact on the quality of care and on job satisfaction. Understandably there has been much recent research on improving the staffing and nurse-patient assignment decisions in increasingly realistic settings. On a version of the nursepatient assignment problem given a fixed staffing of neonatal intensive care units, constraint programming (CP) was shown to per...
متن کاملPatterns of collaboration in design courses: team dynamics affect technology appropriation, artifact creation, and course performance
In a collaborative task, group dynamics have been shown to affect students’ grades, motivation to pursue a topic or subject, documentation of the experience, learning, enjoyment of a project, and relationships with their classmates. The results presented in this paper illustrate the effect team dynamics also have upon technology appropriation, by combining proven data-collection strategies and ...

Today, the internet is the significant tool of online shopping in all around the world. Online transaction systems make shopper possible to make payment for services or products utilizing the internet. The current paper purpose is to focus on the elements that can affect online repurchase intentions. In the current paper we utilized survey questionnaire to gather 102 in Malaysia from those that...
متن کاملShould Online Course Design Meet Accessibility Standards?
For quite some time now, the Internet and its content have been developing in a haphazard way. This is not inherently a bad thing and perhaps it's even unavoidable, but it does have its problems. Web-based languages such as HTML, JavaScript, XHTML, XML, Perl, etc have been standardized into versions, but these standards shift over time because these languages are almost all very new and in many...
